Conscious Counselling and Wellness is pleased to offer a trauma-sensitive yoga class every Saturday morning at 10am to our Fredericton community.
This class is appropriate for anyone who wants to connect with their mind, body and spirit in a safe, trauma-sensitive environment.
This class is informed by the neurobiology of trauma which suggests that trauma remains in our body long after a threat has dissapeared. In this class, we pay special attention to the fact that our fight-flight-freeze-appease responses can be activated by internal and external cues of safety or danger. You never have to disclose or discuss any trauma you have been through in order to attend this class. We simply want to create a safe container in this class whereby you feel safe to work through any mental or physical triggers that may occur as you reconnect with your body.
Our instructor, Irene Graham, is experienced both in yoga instruction and in working in the highly trauma-saturated fields of human services and personal support work. Irene brings forward a gentle, compassionate, and genuine intention to connect with others and make them feel safe in her classes.
This class will be a perfect way to start your Saturday's in our beautiful downtown as the weather heats up!
Our studio at 151 Brunswick Street, Suite B can accomodate 5 yoga students at this time in order to properly abide by COVID-19 social distancing guidelines set out by The Department of Public Health, Gov't of New Brunswick.
